The Murder Room 2004

The Murder Room (2004)     London's Dupayne Museum has a murder room and people start dying following the modis operandi of the crimes depicted in the display.  This film is directed by Diarmuid Lawrence and features a different actor in the role of the main character, Commander Dalgliesh.  The other P.D. James films I've
watched were made earlier than The Murder Room and were directed by John Davies.
Initially it was difficult for me to transition to the differences in directors and cast in the first episode.  Once the mystery details started to come into focus, it was easier to become involved.  The same theme is followed with a lot of clues, many characters, a leisurely pace and missing information that keeps discovering the murderer's identity until later in the episodes.
Another difference in this film is that Dalgliesh can picture in his mind what he thinks happened during the crime which is also shown to the viewer.  Let the action and clues play out slowly.  3 1/2*  (I liked this movie)

180 min, Mystery with Martin Shaw, Samantha Bond, Kerry Fox, Josh Cohen.

Note:  Blockbuster 3*, imdb 7.1 out of 10, 50% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
