The Trip 2011

The Trip (2010)    Playing loose versions of themselves, Steve Coogan is a restaurant critic, he invites his friend Rob Brydon go on a business trip through the English countryside.  Steve is reviewing several restaurants throughout the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales for The Observer.  Originally Steve's girlfriend was to accompany him but decides not to go at the last minute.
Some funny moments but why was this film made?  It's like a trip you or I would go on but filmed?  The countryside is beautiful and the food looks and sounds delicious except some of the choices from the menu would not have been my choices.  Could I film my own trip and get it released as a movie?  Would I just need to be somewhat funny?  3* (This movie is OK)

112 min, Com directed by Michael Winterbottom with Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, Claire Keelan, Margo Stilley, Rebecca Johnson, Dolya Gavanski, Kerry Shale.

Note:  Blockbuster 3 1/2*, imdb 7.1 out of 10, 89% critic 71% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
