Andy is a 12 year old boy in a California middle school in the mid 1960's. He intelligent but shy and awkward, socially unpopular and he will do anything to avoid ridicule and ostracism. A popular teacher pairs him up on a school project with an even more unpopular student. This will really seal his fate and make him more doomed. There is an area on the school ground reserved only for the outcasts and once you set foot on this property, your fate is sealed. The problem is they can only meet in this area to work on the project? This is very good, the teacher is trying to teach the students that tolerance leads to peace and he has won an essay contest on world peace with a new car as the prize. His essay was only four words: human dignity + compassion = peace. 4* (I really liked this movie)
