Coriolanus 2011

Product Details     Caius Martius (Coriolanus) is a revered and feared Roman General who is at odds with the city of Rome and his fellow citizens.  He is pushed by his controlling and ambitious mother Volumnia to seek the exalted and powerful position of Consul.  He does not want to ingratiate himself with the masses but he needs their votes in order to secure the office.  When the public refuses to support him, Coriolanus's anger prompts a riot that culminates in his expulsion from Rome.
A lot of action and soldiers fighting with current weapons but speaking in Shakespearean language.  I just don't get it, if you have something to say, just say it?  I really could not get beyond their choice of speech pattern and I did not listen anymore.  I did not like or enjoy this movie at all.  I think a movie in a foreign language without subtitles would have been my preference over what was presented.  If this does not bother you, the movie might work for you.  1* (I hated this movie)
