Mozart's Sister

Product Details     A speculative account of Maria Anna "Nannerl" Mozart, she is five years older than her brother Wolfgang.  They are both musical prodigies but her brother has surpassed her as the featured performer.  This is due to the fact that he is male and seen as more desirable than a female in the French culture.  Their strict but loving father Leopold tours his talented offspring in front of the royal courts of France in Europe prior to the revolution.  Maria has been forbidden to play the violin or compose, she chafes at these limitations on her talents because of her gender and not because of her lack of abilities.
If you have trouble with insomnia, this movie will really help, I could barely stay awake and I fell asleep quickly when I went to bed!!  It just meanders along with not very much happening and the culture differences in France at this time in history are difficult to follow.  3* (This movie is OK)

120 min, Drama directed by Rene Feret with Marie Feret, Marc Barbe, Delphine Chulliot, David Moreau, Clovis Fouin.

Note:  Blockbuster not listed, imdb 6.0 out of 10, 74% critic 55% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
