Syrup 2013

Syrup     This film is based on a bestselling novel by Max Barry.  Scat is fresh out of college with a degree in marketing.  He has the idea to market a drink with a provocative name.  He will do anything to become one of the rich and wildly successful advertising people.  His first hurdle is to convince Six, a skilled and very well paid advertising executive, that this product will sell itself off the shelves.  His second hurdle is betrayal by his best friend Sneaky Pete.  Pete registers the name of the product and gives it to Six.  This maneuver cheats Scat out of the deal of his lifetime.
I did not get very far into this film.  I didn’t think it was funny, I thought it was tiresome and trying very hard.  It’s another sell your soul for a buck and no matter what theme.  2* (I didn’t like this movie)
90 min, Comedy directed by Aram Rappaport with Amber Heard, Shiloh Fernandez, Kellan Lutz, Kirstie Alley, Jolene Andersen, Zachary Booth, Alexander Chaplin.

Note:  Imdb 5.7 out of 10,  14% critic 37% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Film Crave 2.40 out of 4.
