Sightseers 2012

Sightseers

Chris has purchased an Abbey Oxford Caravan and he wants to take Tina, his girlfriend, on a journey through the British Isles.  Tina is worried about leaving her elderly mother behind but this is the chance of a lifetime.  Chris wants to show her the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the beautiful countryside.  There are some problems along the way, a littering man, noisy teenagers and pre-booked camping sites.
I really didn’t know what I was getting into with this film and it’s a bit unusual.  Chris and Tina don’t take offenses lightly.  I’m very sure that I would not want to go camping with them or run across them anywhere!!  3* (This movie is OK)

88 min, Adventure directed by Ben Wheatley with Alice Lowe, Kenneth Hadley, Steve Oram, Eileen Davies, Roger Michael, Tony Way, Seamus O’Neill, Monica Dolan, Jonathan Aris, Aymen Hamdouchi.

Note:  Imdb 6.5 of 10, 85% critic 64% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Roger Ebert 4*.
Special Note:  Alice Lowe and Steve Oram are both stand-up comedians and they developed these characters together as a series of sketches.  Ben Wheatley directed Down Terrace and Kill List.
