This series is set in
different neighborhoods of Auckland, New Zealand. Detective Harry Anglesea is struggling to raise his
thirteen-year-old daughter after the death of his wife. His job is working the Major Crimes Unit in
Manukau. This area has a lot of
drugs and violence. A gang with
three men has committed several armed robberies with one resulting in the death
of a bank teller. Harry and his
family are originally from Samoa and there are a lot of people in this area
from this island.
There is a lot of
violence in this film, especially involving the drug dealers and it's based on true events. There is one
story covered in each episode and some of the violence stays with you in your mind after
viewing. In some ways, this is
like the Prime Suspect TV Series with Helen Mirren.
