For two decades researchers, activists, scientists and progressive politicians
have struggled to interest the American public and the federal government in
global warming. Industry funded think-tanks and lobbyists have worked
just as hard to dilute and dismiss the issue as hysterical. Hurricane
Katrina sent a real message that a storm like this was because of global
warming and climate change.
Well, is it a surprise that the Bush administration
(born, bread and founded on big oil and it's consumption) stuck it's head in
the sand and let other countries carry the ball on this issue? Is is
another surprise who was paying all the naysayers. We've been held
hostage by big oil for too many years, we should be way ahead in alternative
fuels, impressive gas mileage and electric cars. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
