In the first Best
Exotic Marigold Hotel, Sonny realizes his dream of a hotel in India. Now he is trying to expand to a second
hotel with the help of an American investor. These hotels are for the elderly and beautiful people but he has
only one room left at the current hotel.
All the regular residents are full time guests and some have local jobs. Muriel, one of the residents, accompanied Sonny to America to
meet with the investors and she is also the new co-manager of the hotel.
I thought the first
film was better than this sequel. It
has many of the original characters and begins eight to nine months after where
the first film ended. There are a
lot of misunderstandings, lack of communication and hurt feelings. I didn’t feel this way about the first
film but this one seems to have too much Bollywood and gives an unreal image of
India? 3* (This movie is OK)
