Jake and his mother
Alyssa move from Chicago to Wilmington, North Carolina. Jake’s dad passed away and they lost
their home. Jake and Alyssa are
going to stay with Alyssa’s father Lou.
Alyssa hopes to find a job and then they can move to their own place. Jake learns the only summer activity in
this town is surfing.
Unfortunately, Jake doesn’t know how to surf.
There is a lot of
drama and bullying by the experienced surfers of Jake’s age group. Also, Jake wants
to go back to Chicago and reestablish his life there where he was happy. Because they lost their home, this isn't an option. It's tough for teens to make new friends and acclimate to a different home. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
