Elizabeth Sloane is a
lobbyist in Washington DC. She is
known for her record of success and she does whatever it takes to win. She also aims to be one step ahead of her
competition. The core of this
film is the corruption and manipulation used by high-powered lobbyists in DC
politics.
Lobbyists are
wheeler-dealers and they will sell you a car even if you can’t drive or need one!! Despite the pressure against this film
because of the assumed agenda for pro-gun-control, that is not the
point this film is trying to make. Sloane will take any case
that she thinks will advance her career and that she thinks she can win. She is cold and calculating and it
doesn’t matter if she supports the cause she is lobbying. Winning is the end game for Sloane. There is a BIG twist at the end!! I thought this was too long and it goes
over details for too long. 3*

Studios, The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The US gun lobbyists, the NRA and its
supporters instituted an aggressive social media campaign to boycott this film.
Supporters of Donald Trump also
wanted to tarnish the credibility of this film. They believed the pro-gun-control message threatened their
constitutional rights. The box-office momentum of the film was
decreased but home video and digital HD fans have turned around the false
rhetoric and manipulation of the ratings.
