Pride and Glory 2008

     Francis Tierney, Sr., his sons Francis Rierney, Jr., Ray Tierney and son-in-law Jimmy Egan are police officers in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York.  A tragedy occurs when four officers die in an ambush at a drug dealer’s apartment.  Everyone on the force and their families are devastated by this event.  There are signs of police corruption and a tremendous amount of pressure is applied to quickly clean house.  Jimmy is a hothead one of the drug dealers visits him at his home while his family is in the house.  This sets Jimmy off, how will this change the focus of the investigation and will there be more trouble?

     I didn't like anything about this movie!!  I think it's too long, every other word is swearing so almost no dialog, a lot of violence and brutality.  I can clearly see why the other reviews are low!!  1 1/2* (I really didn't like this movie)

Special Note:  Filmed in Brooklyn, Queens, and New York City.  This movie was filmed in 2006 but left on the shelf at New Line until Warner Bros. picked up New Line’s content.  Originally, Mark Wahlberg and Hugh Jackman in talks as leads.  Nick Nolte was cast as Francis Tierney, Sr. but he was having problems with an old knee injury.   Production was scheduled to begin in February 2002 but after September 11, 2001 it was decided filming corrupt NYPD officers would be inappropriate.  There were many heroes among the city’s police.
