Hanna 2019

     This series is both a high-concept thriller and a coming-of-age drama.  It is based on the film Hanna 2011.  Hanna was taken as a newborn baby to a government-sponsored experiment in a Romanian facility involving genetic superiority, human weapons, etc.  Erik Heller and Hanna’s mother go the facility to get Hanna back.  They flee to a Polish forest but Hanna’s mother is killed by gunfire.  Erik teaches her how to survive alone and how to physically and mentally protect herself.  They live in the forest for fifteen years.  Hanna meets a young man working in the forest and she leaves.  She wants to know what is beyond the forest?  Hanna hides out with a suburban family in London and she met them after she ran away from a Moroccan CIA facility.  They are a British family out on holiday in their VW van.  Sophie and Hanna become friends but they have a falling out and Hanna leaves.  Erik realizes that Hanna will not listen to anything but the truth.  He takes her back to Romania and Hanna tells Erik that she knows he is not her real father.  He tells her about the Romanian facility called Utrax where she was taken after she was born.  He also tells her how her mother died. 

     There is a LOT going on in this film and some information is slowly revealed and at later in later scenes.  Hanna’s mother and Erik met when her mother was thinking about going to an abortion clinic.  Erik wanted to help her and he gave Hanna’s mother other options.  Because of her forest training Hanna is very strong and she can somehow sense information.  It is difficult for her to interact with other teens her age when she has a chance to be with them.  It is possible that there will be a Season 2 released in 2020.  5* (I really liked this series)

Imdb 7.5 out of 10 with 18,126 reviews, Rotten Tomatoes 67% with 39 critics 83% with 313 user ratings, Rolling Stone 2 1/2* out of 5* David Fear, Amazon 4.1* out of 5* with 4,013 viewers.

Mistakes:  Romanian number plates are used for German cars and German number plates are on Romanian cars?
