Piet Van der Valk is an engaging, unapologetic and street-smart detective. He leads his dynamic team to solve mysterious crimes using astute human observation and inspired detection in and around contemporary Amsterdam.
I thought it was interesting see the Dutch city, businesses and apartments. The actors have a pronounced British accent and they use a breezy clipped British slang. In Amsterdam, people speak English with a characteristic international accent. The Dutch pronunciation for the names of some of the main characters was not accurate either. I also thought the actors were too glib at times and more interested in being hip than solving the crimes??? 3 1/2* (I liked this series)
