Across the Pacific 1942

Product Details     Rick Leland is court-marshaled out of the army because he stole money and didn’t have time to replace it before being caught.  He tries to enlist in the Canadian Army but his reputation has followed him and they refuse.  As persona-non-grata, he boards a Japanese ship bound for the Orient in late 1941.  He meets Alberta Marlow and they take a shine to each other.  She gets very sea sick in the beginning and doesn’t want to ever see him again.  Then she gets sunburned and remembers she never wanted to see him again.
Throughout this film I kept making comments, it’s really not this way but it’s this way, I know he’s being followed, I know she’s being followed.  If my viewing partner becomes blind or can’t figure simple things out, I will be there to point everything out one scene at a time.  This is good, a lot of action for it’s day and intrigue.   4* (I really liked this movie)

97 min, Action directed by John Huston with Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, Sydney Greenstreet, Charles Halton, Victor Sen Yung, Roland Got.

Note:  Imdb 6.8 out of 10, 55% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
Special Note:  This film reunites the cast of the Maltese Falcon, Huston, Bogart, Astor and Greenstreet.  A GREAT combination of acting!
