The President and
First Lady are going to an event by limousine.
There are two cars of Secret Service agents, one in front and one in
back. It is dark and snowing,
the limo has an accident on a bridge and the car is half on the road and half
over the side. The agents pull
the President from the vehicle, try to keep it from going over the side but
they are unable to save the First Lady.
The car went over the side with her in the car. It wasn’t Mike Banning’s fault but the President doesn’t
want to be reminded every day of the accident so Banning is transferred to
other duties. A powerful terrorist
group takes command of the White House by force and they have the President and
other political leaders captive in the bunker. The Speaker of the house becomes the acting President. Banning is the only operative still alive inside
the White House with the abilities to overturn the situation.
I thought this would
be good but everything about it screams improbable, impossible, preposterous,
paranoid, unbelievable and unlikely.
Relies on body count without brains to impress. 1 ½* (I really didn’t like this movie)
