This film covers the
years from 1956 through 1963 in the life of Patsy Cline. She got her start in country bars, went
on a talent show to be discovered and she rose to the top of the charts. She left her first husband and married
Charlie. They had a turbulent
marriage, he was drafted into the military, he got drunk the night their first
child was born and he would get very angry. Patsy worked very hard to promote her music.
Patsy’s mother, Hilda
helped her with her two children and housekeeping especially when Patsy was on
the road. They loved each
other very much and Hilda got after Patsy for her bad language. It was a difficult life on the road and
everyone would get exhausted. So
much so that they didn’t know if they had the strength to continue. There were a lot of problems with
Patsy’s marriage but she loved her children. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
