Vicki 1953

This movie is based on a novel written by Steve Fisher titled I Wake Up Screaming. Vicki Lynn was working as a night shift waitress when Steve Christopher spots her.  He is a publicist and he thinks Vicki has a chance to make it big in modeling.  Seemingly overnight, Vicki is modeling, she’s on billboards, her picture is in the paper and she’s singing in a nightclub.  Everything is going very well until she announces she has tested in Hollywood and she is leaving New York.
This film is in black and white.  There is a mystery and a lot of good cop bad cop.  Also a lot of pressure is applied questioning family and friends.   I liked the clothing, hairstyles and the cars.  3* (This movie is OK)

85 min, Crime directed by Harry Horner with Jeanne Crain, Jean Peters, Elliott Reid, Richard Boone, Max Showalter, Alexander D’Arcy, Carl Betz, Aaron Spelling.

Note:  Imdb 6.6 out of 10, 22% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon 3.6* out of 5* with 25 reviews.
Special Note:  A remake of the 1941 movie I Wake Up Screaming starring Laird Cregar, Victor Mature and Betty Grable.
