Reclaim 2014

Steven was out drinking one evening and his wife Shannon had to come to pick him up.  Shortly after, their car was hit on the driver’s side by a large truck.  After the accident, Shannon hasn’t been working and another complication in their lives is that she is unable to have children.  The couple decides to adopt a child and they start working with International Rescue Adoption with an office in Puerto Rico.  They want to adopt Nina, she is from Haiti and rescued after the Haitian earthquake.  They take a flight to meet Nina and they fall in love with her right away.  They need to wait three days for her passport to be ready so she can travel with them back to the United States as their daughter.
This film has low reviews and it seems most of the criticism is of the plot.  The plot has been done too many times before.  I thought the scenery was beautiful and the actions scenes were convincing.  They make you want to yell at the television?  One positive element of this film is it does focus on adoptions.  3* (This movie is OK)

96 min, Drama directed by Alan White with John Cusack, Ryan Phillippe, Rachelle Lefevre, Jackie Weaver, Luis Guzman, Brianna Roy, Jandres Burgos, Veronica Faye Foo, Alex Cintron, Millie Ruperto, Oscar H. Guerrero.

Note:  Imdb 5.1 out of 10, 0% critic 26% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon 4.0* out of 5* with 113 reviews.
Special Note:  This movie was filmed in Puerto Rico.  Briana Roy does an excellent job as Nina.  At the time of filming she was eight years old.  She has been in FabLife and Recovery Road, both TV programs.
