Pomme and Pierre are
a married couple in their forties and they have been together a long time. They can’t seem to get along
anymore? Predictability and giving the cold
shoulder is the norm instead of passion and spontaneity. Pomme is preparing food for a hike and
Pierre says he doesn’t want to go.
She’s disappointed and she’s gone to a lot of trouble with the
preparations. He changes his mind
and they go. They get into an
argument on the hike and Pomme stays behind in the Chamoiselle forest near Lyon. Pierre takes the car and he worries
about her but he doesn’t do anything.
Pomme stays several nights in the forest and then she hitches a ride to
a nearby city. She stays in a
hotel one night and goes back to the forest.
Pomme has been on leave from her job because
she is recovering from surgery for a benign brain tumor. She learns that the company where she
works has gone into receivership. She is probably rethinking everything about her life since her health
scare. She will also need to look for other employment. These are two intense developments in her life one after the other. I continued to watch but I
wanted to stop viewing in the beginning.
I didn’t know if it would continue to go around an around in
arguments. Pomme’s inner journey
in the forest does stop the arguing.
