Manhee is on a
business trip to the Cannes Film Festival. Her boss accuses her of being dishonest and she is
fired. None of this is true!! What actually happened and the real reason she was fired is that
her boss is in a relationship with Director So Wansoo. He got drunk and spent time with
Manhee. Claire is a teacher and
she lives in Paris. She is taking
pictures with a Polaroid camera.
She believes people change after she takes their picture. Claire looks slowly at things, she analyzes
the person and the picture. She
sympathizes with Manhee. They
spend some time together, Manhee was supposed to return home to Korea but she
couldn’t change her flight. Claire
spends time with Director So Wansoo and she sees that he does a LOT of drinking.
I noticed in all of
the reviews that the audience gives a lower number than the critics? This must be classified as an “art”
film? There is not very much
substance to the plot but the scenery and the water in Cannes is very beautiful. Personally, I don’t believe that
Claire’s camera can do anything other than take a picture? I think that what Claire really does is
let people see themselves and that some of the life decisions they are making
are not the best for them. 2 ½*
