This is the final set of episodes for the British Wallander series starring Kenneth Branagh. Kurt has recently relocated to the Swedish countryside. He needs to have a fresh start, relax and distance himself from his police work. Soon after the move he begins to investigate the disappearance of a young woman. It is believed that she may have been pushed off a ferry into the Baltic. Kurt and his girlfriend Vanja find a skeleton buried in the garden of their new home? He also discovers that the body was buried more recently than he had presumed.
Kurt’s new life in the countryside is not going as smoothly as he thought. Vanja is getting upset that Kurt is right back into police work and they have only just moved to their new location? Instead of backing away from police work, Kurt is throwing himself fully into his old life. In this life he is a deeply depressed individual, he suppresses severe mental illness with a mountain of work!! This type of life only contributes to his depression!!
