Fidel Castro opens the Mariel, Cuba harbor and sends 125,000 Cuban refugees to reunite with their relatives in the US. Many are from the Cuban prisons, Tony Montana is one of the criminals. He goes to work for a Miami drug lord in 1980 and rises to the top of Florida's crime chain with a trail of murders in his wake.Somewhat based on the original Scarface of 1932 which was filmed in Chicago. How can you make any decisions when you have a bag of cocaine in your system at all times? When you treat everyone like dirt, they eventually all band together to bring you down but that can only be the ones that are still alive. At first I did not like this movie but it becomes better as everything falls apart. There is a not of trivia information at imdb. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
