Tui is twelve-years old, she lives with her father, a local drug lord
and three stepbrothers in a heavily secured gated compound. Detective Robin Griffin is called in to
talk with Tui when it is discovered she is five months pregnant. She refuses to name the father and
disappears soon after talking with Robin.
Robin used to live in this town, her father has passed away but still
has a cabin here. Her mother has cancer
and feels neglected by Robin. The
local police don’t seem to be taking the complicated case seriously
enough.
Very well acted and filmed in the wild and gorgeous country of New
Zealand. The speech of some of the
characters is a little difficult to understand with their local accents. This is a very gripping drama that has
you on the edge of your seat wondering how this will conclude. It's only problem is that is could have been more condensed. 4* (I really liked this movie)
