Toby and Tanner
Howard grew up on a farm in rural Texas.
Toby took care of their mother until she recently passed away. Tanner spent a lot of time in jail or
prison. They meet up again because
the farm has been reverse mortgaged and the local bank will foreclose on it soon. Somehow they need to get enough money to
pay off the loans because oil has been found on the property. Toby also owes money to his ex-wife for
child support. He has two boys
and he’d like to see the cycle of poverty broken and not passed on to the boys.
Everything is
different and bigger in Texas!! You
need a pickup truck and you can open carry a gun. If you want to commit a crime, there can be several regular
people able to take you out. They don’t mind chasing you on foot or in their
pickup truck!! There are funny moments but serious moments too.

There is a mistake in this film.
Jeff Bridges and his partner are on the road and Bridges is
driving. Just a little bit later
his partner is driving and there isn’t any explanation for the change?
