This film is based on the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and the characters created by L. Frank Baum. A twelve-year old girl is an orphan in
Kingman, Kansas. She lives in a fantasy world and she believes she is from the Oz books. She keeps telling everyone that her name is not Elizabeth but
it’s Dorothy Gale and she’s been to see the Wizard of Oz. She wants everyone to call her Doro but they refuse. Every day she hopes she will see her dog
Toto and her friends who made the journey with her to Oz. She doesn’t know that the Scarecrow and the
Tin Woodman are searching for her right now. The Cowardly Lion felt he needed
to stay behind in Oz. They believe
Dorothy is the only one who can save Oz from a threat sweeping the land.
This a very nice movie for families with kids
despite the discouraging and low reviews. Actually, Elizabeth has created this dream world in order to cope with her real world. A little patience please, this isn’t and shouldn’t be considered to be as complicated as rocket science? 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
80 min, Family & Kids

Note: Imdb 2.8 out of 10, 32% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon 3.3* out of 5* with 20 reviews, Common Sense Media age 8+, 2* out of 5*, educational 1*, Positive messages 3*, role models 3*, violence 1*, consumerism 1*.
Special Note: Filmed in Kingman, Pretty Prairie and Topeka, Kansas; Granite City, Illinois; Missouri, New Jersey, New York and California. Nearly everyone is talking about
violence in films and video games because of the continuing violence in our society. Is there support for a
movie without any of this? Minimal support
judging by the above reviews!
