Hercule Poirot meets with
a mysterious veiled woman concerning a blackmail threat. Mr. Lavington is asking Lady Millicent Castle Vaughn to pay 20,000 pounds for a love
letter she wrote to a soldier when she was 16 years old. She is soon to be married to the Duke of Southshire. She cannot afford this sum and doesn't want the letter to be shown to her future husband.
Poirot and Hastings agree to meet with Mr. Lavington to try to get the letter
returned without the payment. Mr. Lavinton calls on Poirot bu he laughs at the suggestion that he will return the letter to Lady Millicent without payment of the money?
This is interesting and funny!! Poirot dresses like a Swedish locksmith to enter the home of Mr. Lavington to look for the letter. He is wearing peasant clothing, riding a bicycle and looking totally out of character as the famous detective. Later, Poriot and Hastings return after dark for a real search. Things do not go as planned from this point on. 4* (I really liked this movie)
