This film is based on
a stage play The Seagull by Anton Checkhov. A group of actors spend a holiday together in the French
countryside. Mado is an actress,
they are staying at her country home and she is traveling with her boyfriend
Brice. Also staying with them is
her son Julien, he is an experimental filmmaker. Lili is the only person who lives nearby in this
region. She would like to be an
actor and this could be a chance for her to make some contacts. Brice invites Lili to travel to Paris. Later Julien is making a film about the
holiday. Lili has become an
actress and she learns about the new film. She tries out for a role and she becomes the star of this
production. Julian is now married
with a young daughter.
You will need to pay
attention to the subtitles to know what is going on in this film!! There is a LOT of back and forth
between the actors (I wonder why?).
There is also a LOT of yelling and emotional outbursts. It may have been nice to have a few
scenes with quiet?? 3* (This movie
is OK)
