Based on the memoirs of Lilly Wust, she is 85 in 1999 and still living in Germany. In 1943, she is the wife of a Nazi officer and she earns the Cross of Motherhood for bringing up four children. Her husband is at the front lines of the war, she receives a love letter signed Jaguar, it is from Felice Schragenheim, a Jewish journalist. Lilly tells her husband she wants a divorce but this makes it more difficult for Felice since she is a Jew. They make a pact of love and marriage and try to block out the reality of war and persecution but the Gestapo is on their trail.
The subtitles seem in smaller print, they seem to go by quickly also. It is a little difficult to keep track of what is going on, so many things going on at once. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
