An Apatosaurus named
Arlo is small and he is born into a family with Poppa, Momma, Libby and
Buck. The family raises corn to
sustain them and also get them through the cold winters. Libby and Buck have no problems doing
their share but Arlo gets scared easily.
Arlo is supposed to kill anything that falls into a trap they have made
in the cornfield. He traps a small
human named Spot and he doesn’t think he can kill him. Spot is really a small human boy. Poppa Henry goes with Arlo to track down
the caveboy. There is a flash
flood and Arlo is saved but Henry is swept away by the water. Arlo feels terrible about his Poppa. He blames the caveboy for Poppa’s death
and when he sees Spot again, he chases him to the river and they both fall in.
The theory in this
film is that the asteroid from 65 million years ago did not collide with the Earth. Because of this, the
extinction of the dinosaurs did not happen. The dinosaurs survived and the adventure
of the Apatosaurus family begins a few million years later. The animation is good along with the story and very colorful beautiful
scenery. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
