John Hollar is an
aspiring graphic novelist and he lives in New York City with his girlfriend Rebecca. They are about to become first time
parents. John gets a call that his
mother has had a seizure at home.
She’s in the hospital in Ohio and she has a brain tumor that requires
surgery. John goes to the hospital
and he stays at the family home with his brother Ron. He learns the family business is underwater and his dad Don
has fired Ron because he can’t pay him or the other employees. Ron has been living at home since he
was fired. Everyone in the family
is worried about Sally and her surgery.
There are funny
moments in this film but sad ones as well. Ron hasn’t gotten over his divorce from his wife Stacy. He sits outside her house in his car
and she is now married to Reverend Dan.
Ron also misses his two daughters.
John wonders if his ex-girlfriend Gwen still has feelings for him. So many complications and now Sally has
a brain tumor? 3* (This movie is
OK)
