Another title for
this film is In Your Name and his
film is based on a true story.
Andre Bamberski’s daughter Kalinka passed away on July 10, 1982 in
Germany. She was 14 years old, she
was visiting Andre’s former wife Dany and her new husband Doctor Dieter
Frombach. Andre asked for a copy
of the autopsy report and he believes Dieter killed his daughter. He spends 30 years of his life bringing
Dieter to justice. The different
governments of France and Germany could not agree on prosecuting Dieter for
many years. It wasn’t until more
people came forward and accused Dieter of wrongdoings that Dany finally believed
Dieter murdered her daughter.
I thought this was
good and Andre finally received justice for his daughter but it was at a high
cost. He was dating Cecile but she
finally left him because she knew he would never give up on this case. She was 40 years old and she
wanted to have a child but Andre would not consider the idea. Andre’s father told him to think of his
own life and also of Cecile.
Everything in his life was clouded by the injustice done to his
daughter. He also had a son but he
didn’t seem to have enough room for his son and the case. 3* (This movie is OK)
