This film was adapted
from the book Simon vs.The Homosapiens Agenda. Simon Spier is a popular high school senior but he has a
secret that he has only shared with an unknown online friend. Simon has no idea who is friend is and
he goes by the name Blue. Simon
also doesn’t know if Blue knows who Simon is? Simon has been nervous for a LONG time about telling anyone
that he is gay. He only talks to
Blue about this online and he really doesn’t know if he wants to know who Blue
is?
Teenage years are
filled with growing pains in many different ways. Simon wonders why gay people need to come out? He feels like he needs to really find
himself before he can tell other people about who he is? There is a lot of peer pressure in this
film and there are instances of bullying from other students. 3* (This movie is OK)
