Jeremy works for a
publishing company and he is asked to travel to rural Italy. The company wonders why the writer
Weldon has not sent anything to be published in a long time. Jeremy is told that Weldon was
contacted before and he was not receptive. Jeremy is over his head with Weldon!! His daughter Isabella says he hates visitors and especially those from his publisher? Despite help from Isabella,
he can’t seem to have any influence on Weldon? Oh, well, Jeremy is enjoying the countryside and the
people. Maybe he will start doing some of his own
writing now that he has some time?
I thought this movie
was good. I knew right away that
it was going to be a tough assignment to get Weldon to write again!! Tough to even have Weldon talk to him!! What will be Jeremy's fate in rural Italy? This film reminded me of Under the
Tuscan Sun 2003 (4.6* out of 5* with 1547 reviews on Amazon). Diane Lane is in the role of Frances Mayes and she goes to Tuscany
to change her life. She is a San
Francisco based literature professor, literary reviewer and author. She is struggling to finish writing her latest
book. Frances impulsively ditches
a tour to purchase an aged villa.
It turns out to be a fixer-upper with many obstacles in the path!! 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
