Rio Cutler is a
young boy and he kills his father with a gun because he was beating Rio’s mother
to death. Rio and his sister Sara
go on the run across the American Southwest. They are afraid their villainous uncle Grant will come after
them and exact a price from them for his brother's death. They encounter Sheriff Pat Garrett and he is on the
hunt for Billy the Kid. Initially,
Rio believes he can trust Billy the Kid?
Then he believes he should trust Pat Garrett? This is an adult decision and he's not sure?
This film mixes fact
and fiction into the legend of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. There is a lot of brutality and this is
a rough movie. It also shows Rio making a difficult decision about Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. It’s easy to be in awe of both these
men because of their reputations and the stories told about them. They are on two sides of the fence, one
an outlaw and the other a Sheriff.
I thought this movie was good and I could see all three sides of the
story. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
