Ma 2019

     Maggie has just moved from a large city with her mother Erica to her mom’s hometown.  Maggie quickly makes friends at her school and she finds a nice boyfriend.  There is little to do around the town and her friends like to drink.  But, they need an adult to buy the liquor.  Sue Ann invites the group to party safely in her basement.  Just when the group thinks their luck couldn’t get any better, things start happening that make them question the intention of their generous hostess?  Maggie urges her friends not to go back to Sue Ann’s home.  Sue Ann isn’t willing to give up her new friends so easily!! 
     The creators of Us are also behind this film.  This movie was not filmed in Ohio but the local vehicles have Ohio license plates, the prefix for Hawkins Security is number 216 and this is the area code for the greater Cleveland area.  A nuclear power plant is seen in the opening credits and the Perry Nuclear Plant is just 40 miles North East of Cleveland.  There are also several casinos in the Cleveland area.  Sue Ann has some pretty dark secrets that the teens don’t know!!  This film has extremely mature content throughout.  Language is almost constant with a stream of words in the dialogue.  Teens are drinking and sometimes getting drunk until they pass out.  They smoke pot and vape plus some characters are drugged by Ma.  This is definitely not my type of movie??  I just don't like anything about it??  1/2* (I really hated this movie)
