A look into a year in the life of Tom and Gerri, happily married, established, both have rewarding jobs. They are very nice people, they care about others and want to help those who are not as fortunate in their happiness. Mary, Gerri's co-worker, drinks too much, a failed marriage, living alone, plans on buying a car for more independence. Ken, Tom's friend, alone also, aging, doesn't like his job, drinks and eats too much. They have an adult son, he's a solicitor and has his own life but checks in with his parents.
I enjoyed this movie, you see how giving Tom and Gerri really are, they share the stability they have. What does it take to give? Not very much, a meal, pleasant company, being there to listen. It gives hope when you're alone, there is someone out there not asking anything of you but there for you. 4* (I really liked this movie)
