The parents of a veterinary student are killed in a car accident and he leaves school before taking the final exam. He doesn't know what he's going to do, he's penniless, homeless and it's the depression. He jumps aboard a train and finds there is an opportunity for him to join a traveling circus as their vet, what other choice does he have? He instantly falls in love with the wife of the circus boss which can lead to very extreme consequences. The boss is known for his violent temper and jealousy.The book that this movie is based on is so much fuller, richer and better than the movie. The characters seem flat with not enough dimension. Witherspoon is 10 years older than Pattinson and they just don't seem to blend in their romance. Waltz is mean but just barely. 3* (This movie is OK)
