Adapted from the children's book by Richard Atwater. Tom Popper's father was always off exploring the world, now Tom spends a lot of time on his career but very little time with his children. After Tom learns his father has died, a crate is delivered to his apartment. It contains a cute stuffed penguin which turns out to be a real penguin. Tom calls for a new crate to return the penguin but a phone mix-up causes more penguins to arrive in the new crate. The biggest problem is that no pets are allows in Tom's apartment?
Because of low ratings and reviews, I didn't expect very much from this movie and sometimes Jim Carrey can be a real pain. I thought this was enjoyable, the penguins are really cute and they get into and cause a lot of trouble. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
