This film is a Disney
modernization of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales of Cinderella, Little Red
Riding Hook, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel blended into one tale. The stories are linked together by the
baker and his wife wanting to have a child.
I think this needed
sharper editing because 125 minutes is too long. I didn’t know this was a musical but I could take this
without fast-forwarding through the songs! Johnny Depp is perfectly cast as the Wolf in the story of
Little Red Riding Hood. It seems
this film is either loved or hated in reviews? 3* (This movie is OK)
