Maggy
Fuller receives an encouraging letter in the mail but she doesn’t know the person
who sent it. She asks her parents
but they don’t know. She goes to
the Post Office and one of the workers sends her to a nearby retirement home. She meets Sam Worthington, he wrote her
the letter even though he doesn’t know her personally. He has made it his life’s work in his
later years to send letters to strangers and also to give notes to strangers. He once had harsh words with someone
who later died. He can’t say he’s
sorry to this person so he reaches out to other people.
This
is a simple and sincere movie about a troubled teen girl. Her parents are divorced and her mom
works hard as a waitress. Maggy only
cares about her boyfriend and their band. Through Sam and the other residents of the retirement home, she begins to expand her world. She realizes the person she is and the people who care about her are more important. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
