Back When We Were Grownups 2004

This film is based on a novel by Anne Tyler.  Rebecca Davitch is 53 years old and she wonders about the life she has chosen.  She was originally going to marry Will Allenby but when she met Joe, she knew she wanted to marry him.  He had three children and their mother had left them for her career.  It was rough in the beginning and then Joe died at 26 years old in a car accident.  Rebecca runs a business of giving parties for people.  The family has grown with marriages and grandchildren.  The glue that holds the family together is Rebecca.

There are a lot of people in this family and sometimes it’s difficult to keep them sorted out.  Rebecca contacts her high school boyfriend Will to see how his life turned out.  He is divorced and has a daughter but he is still sorry Rebecca married someone else.  2 ½* (This movie is so-so)
