This film is based on
a book by David Baldacci published in 2008. Loretta is married to Boone and they have a son Mike. Boone and Mike have been looking at
colleges together. Boone is trying
to convince Mike to go to the college Boone wants him to attend. Mike is trying to get Boone to
understand he would like to pick his college himself. Boone is a wealthy and strong willed man. He doesn’t mind telling Loretta what to
do and that she is stupid. Their
neighbors took down the fence between their property and Boone’s so their boys
could play together when they were younger. They have
become so disgusted with Boone’s treatment of Loretta that their family has
severed the friendship. Boone
comes back from a trip and later he’s found dead with a knife in his chest?
Mike confesses that
he killed Boone and he won’t say anything at all to Richard Ramsay, his defense
attorney. Ramsay doesn’t have much
to work with for his defense but he’s trying to keep Mike out of prison. There are two twists to this film. One is what Mikes says on the stand when
he finally speaks. The other is
brought out in a flashback of additional information about the murder. This film seems more like a Lifetime television
movie than a movie released in theaters? 3*
