Arthur Denning is the
head of a major pharmaceutical company. There is a rumor that he has altered
the test results for one of the new drugs the company has been working
on. His former girlfriend Emily
Hynes contacts Ben Cahill. She
gives Ben a file with information about the drug trial results. Ben is working for Charles Abrams and
this will be a very big case for Ben.
He approaches Abrams about pursuing a class action lawsuit against Denning. Events start to occur that jeopardize
the case from the beginning.
As I was watching
this film, I wondered how well known actors were talked into acting in
this? Did they have bills due and
payments to make? Everything is
lightweight and far-fetched. We
are asked to believe attorneys with real clients and a knowledge of the law would
take on this case? Even a person
about to be run down by a motorcycle doesn’t know how to get out of the
way? 1 ½* (I really didn’t like
this movie)

Note: Filmed in New Orleans,

directorial debut for Shintaro Shimosawa. This is the first time Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins have worked together. The original title was Beyond Deceit
