This film is about
the every day life of Paterson and he lives in the town of Paterson, New Jersey. He wakes up every morning at 6:15 and
he has a small bowl of Cheerios with milk. He walks to work and he drives a public transit bus for the
city, it’s #23. He walks home and
greets his wife. She has been
painting something black with added white or something white with added
black. She likes things that are
black and white. Every evening he
straightens the mailbox because it becomes crooked every day. He eats dinner with his wife and then
he takes his dog for a walk. He
always stops by a local bar during the dog walk. Paterson is a poet but he doesn’t show his work to anyone
else.
I wish this film had
more dullness!! Then I could
confidently say that this is the dullest movie that I’ve ever seen!! Everything is a fantasy and nothing is
a true story? The most interesting
character is the English bulldog Marvin.
There is one surprising thing he does every day but you don’t learn this
until you see one scene. Marvin
always waits outside the bar for Paterson. Ron Padgett wrote the poems featured in this film and he is
the one of Director Jim Jarmusch’s favorite poets. 2 ½* (This movie is so-so)

Historic District and Paterson, New Jersey; Yonkers and Queens, New York. Golshifteh Farahani is from Iran. Adam Driver went to bus driving school for his role in this film. The production crew was arranging for him to get a bus license but he enrolled in the school on his own before they had it organized. The Man rapping in the laundry is played by Method Man, he is a member of Wu Tang Clan. Laura mentions a dream where she had twins. After she talks about this, Paterson begins to encounter twins. He sees them on his way to work in the bar and twice on the bus. A young poet appears to be a twin. Characters begin to make comments on the coincidence of Paterson having the same name as the town where he lives? Also, coincidentally Adam is a driver and that is his last name!
