Sam is a widowed father raising his
autistic son David. His mother
died when he was just seven years old and now he is 21 years old. Sam is suffering from terminal liver
cancer and he doesn’t know what to do about David. He has searched for homes but there doesn’t seem to be one able
to take David. Sam tries to teach
David necessary life skills to live on his own without his father.
This film is a change of pace for a
martial artist, acting without any fighting in every scene. Draws you in to Sam’s life of
dedication, patience, caring, love and a lot of struggles. I’m not sure about the accuracy of the portrayal of
autism which probably varies by the individual but this seems very real. 3
