During
the 1950’s, American and Soviet scientists were in a race to see who could
build and detonate the world’s largest bomb. There was a lot both groups did not know about this
process. Many American bombs were
exploded on the remote Bikini Atoll. The inhabitants were moved to another island location.
America’s biggest bomb had many
more megatons of power than estimated and the blast vaporized three coral
islands. The scientist building
the biggest bomb for the Soviet’s had only three months to build the bomb and he
reduced the amount of power produced.
This
is good, I remember films of the early detonations of nuclear bombs and the
people viewing were asked to wear dark glasses!! Nuclear energy was an unknown in these early days and many mistakes were
made!! 3 ½* (I
liked this movie)
