This film takes a
look at three different restaurants and the people behind the scenes. A Chicago based cutting-edge restaurant
named the 7th best in the world. The head chef gets tongue cancer and undergoes intense
treatment to save his sense of taste and his life.
Another is a 150-year-old family restaurant that has burned to the
ground two separate times. The
family didn’t know if they had the strength to rebuild the 2nd
time. The third restaurant is a
Mexican restaurant operated on a shoestring and struggling to survive. Their food is based on recipes from wife’s
mother.
This is interesting
and good. The restaurants are so
different. I can see myself eating
at the family restaurant and the Mexican restaurant but I’m not so sure about
the 7th best in the world.
I like real food and home style cooking but also some innovation. Twenty-five courses may not be for
me? 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
