Rose Cooper lives in
Texas and she started riding with her father in his police car when she was in a baby
seat. She learned all the codes
for different types of calls for assistance. When she became an adult, the only job for her was with the police
force. Her father passed away and
she wanted to carry on for him. Unfortunately,
she has had some upsets in her career and she’s working behind a desk. A new job assignment comes up with Rose
assisting the transport and safety of a woman and her husband testifying
against a powerful drug lord.
This film had promise
but it doesn’t fulfill any of the objectives of promoting women in film or
comedy. Witherspoon’s character is
grating and Vergara doesn’t break away from any of her other performances. It’s based on stereotypes, mistakes, ineptness,
physical limitations, inability to handle situations and the need to be bailed
out by men. How does any of that
help? 2 (I didn't like this movie)
